Structure of The Order

U.S. Chapters

Senior and Junior chapters are at the heart of The Order. They may currently be formed in Episcopal, Anglican, Lutheran and Roman Catholic churches. Three or more women are needed to start a senior chapter, with the consent of the clergy in charge of that church. Three or more baptized girls between 7 and 21 may form a Junior chapter.

U.S. Diocesan and Provincial Assemblies

Early in the 20th century The Order began to subdivide its membership into the eight provinces of the Episcopal Church so that each region could be represented on National Council. We continue to use the geographical regions of the Episcopal Church to provide the structure for our Order, although our Provincial and Diocesan regions now include chapters in Anglican, Lutheran and Roman Catholic churches as well. Our regions are called Assemblies and encompass all the chapters and Daughters at Large in each geographical area. The map below shows the Provinces and Dioceses of the Episcopal Church in the U.S., which correspond to the Provincial and Diocesan Assemblies of The Order.
