Ministry Education Fund

The Ministry Education Fund provides financial assistance to women and girls for ministry-related education. It was established as the Master’s Fund in September 1922 at The Order’s National Convention held at Portland, Oregon, as a thank offering to be given at Pentecost (Whitsuntide) in loving commemoration of the coming of the Holy Spirit. Scholarships and grants were given to assist Daughters and other women, to attend a Church Training School for deaconesses to prepare for missionary or other church-related work with an emphasis on a church-related career. The Master’s Fund was renamed the Ministry Education Fund by resolution at The Order’s National Convention held in Louisville, Kentucky, in June 2024.

Ministry Education Fund scholarships (intended for advanced degree education) are limited to women communicants of the Episcopal Church, of churches in communion with the Episcopal Church, or of churches with the Historic Episcopate but not in communion with it. Ministry Education Fund grants for continuing education (intended for ministry course work) are limited to members of The Order of the Daughters of the King, Inc. Financial assistance is granted on a need-basis from available funds and is based on anticipated renewal grant needs and the number of applicants reviewed, and is available in two forms, formal education scholarships and continuing education grants.

		O heavenly Father, bless the prayers and the gifts we receive for the furtherance of Your kingdom. Give both the giver, and the receiver of the gift, wisdom and guidance to listen for Your will in their lives. By Your grace, empower and prepare Your servants for the work You give them to do. As they grow in the knowledge of You and Your Word, fill them with Your peace and love and joy and send them forth to meet the needs of a wanting world. May their work proclaim Your goodness, build Your kingdom, and be a blessing to all. For His Sake. AMEN.
