Endowment Fund

“Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore, go make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you.

And surely, I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”
Matthew 28: 18-20 NIV

The Endowment Fund was established in 1928 to further the work of The Order. The resolution that was then presented read "That a cumulative endowment fund be inaugurated by the National Council at this session, each member present contributing, such Fund to be a permanent trust fund. It shall be increased by bequests, thank offerings, memorials and other special gifts from persons believing in and desiring to forward the objectives of The Order of the Daughters of the King® ." There are many reasons to contribute to this fund and it's now easier than ever!

** November 1st is the ingathering day for the Endowment Fund. **
This date was selected in honor of All Saints Day.

November 1st is the ingathering day for the Endowment Fund. Designated as All Saints Day, it is a day when we remember all the saints who have come before us so this is the perfect day to collect for this fund.

Prayer For the Endowment Fund

Almighty God, giver of all gifts, we thank You for the generous giving to the Endowment Fund in loving remembrance, honor, and thanksgiving by members and friends of The Order. Guide us in the wise use of these funds, calling us to be ever mindful of those who will follow after us that, in good stewardship of Your abundance, our work will glorify You and bless Your creation. In Jesus’ Name we pray. AMEN.

How the Endowment Fund supports The Order

The Endowment Fund was established to further the work of The Order by investing donations to the Fund and providing for the later withdrawal of earnings. The Order follows the established policy for the Fund concerning the retention and long-term growth of the principal (donated monies) and calculated withdrawals of earnings based on the financial solvency of The Order. The Endowment Fund is blessed to have experienced significant growth in recent years. As such, earnings have been distributed in the last 8 fiscal years according to policy and designated for International Development, National Enrichment, Operating Reserve, and Capital Expenditures. The Endowment Fund truly is a gift that keeps on giving!

How to Make a Donation

The easiest way to donate to the Endowment Fund is to do it online here. For those not comfortable with donating online, a printable donation form is  available for to print and mail to the National office.

As a donation reaches the National Office, either by mail or online, it is recorded into the Book of Remembrance. The Book of Remembrance is taken to each Triennial Gathering and is placed on the Triennial altar.

Contributions do not have to be only in memory of someone who has passed away. Special contributions can be made in tribute, in celebration of birthdays or anniversaries, or in thanksgiving for a Daughters dedication toward The Order. In a lasting gift to The Order, the Endowment Fund can be supported by estate planning. Upon death, these bequests remain in the Fund with only earnings on principal being paid out to support the work of The Order.
