What is a Spiritual Director?

A spiritual director is a trained companion who helps individuals deepen their relationship with God and grow in their spiritual life. A spiritual director focuses on guiding a person’s spiritual journey through attentive listening, discernment, and prayerful support.

What a Spiritual Director Does:

• Listens deeply to how God may be working in your life.
• Asks reflective questions to help you become more aware of God's presence and activity.
• Encourages spiritual practices such as prayer, silence, Scripture reading, and discernment.
• Supports your faith journey without judgment or agenda.
• Offers a sacred space to talk about your doubts, experiences, and longings.

Who Seeks Spiritual Direction?

People of all stages in their faith—laypersons, clergy, seekers, or anyone yearning for a closer walk with God—might seek spiritual direction, especially during:

• Times of transition or decision-making
• Periods of spiritual dryness or questioning
• A desire to grow in prayer or deepen their relationship with God

If you’re seeking greater clarity in your spiritual life or simply want someone to walk alongside you in faith, a spiritual director can be a meaningful companion on the journey.

The information will be compiled and made available on this website. By submitting the form below, the Spiritual Director is agreeing to the posting of their contact and other pertinent information available only to members of The Order. While it is preferred that Spiritual Directors are members of The Order themselves, this is not a prerequisite to have your information posted.
