Formation of the First Chapter in Spain!

The first Daughters of the King Chapter in Spain was instituted June 16, 2013 by
the Rev. Connie Sanchez, DOK National Chaplain in Honduras. Seven women,

including the Rev. Jéssica Coello, were admitted to El Buen Pastor Chapter at Iglesia

del Buen Pastor (Church of the Good Shepherd) in Móstoles, Spain, just outside of Madrid.

It was a great joy for the Rev. Connie Sanchez (National Chaplain for Honduras)
to return to Móstoles to institute the new chapter.

Connecting and Serving During the Pandemic

Rev. Jéssica stays in touch with all the chapters during this difficult time through video calls, and she shares meditations and holds video prayer meetings. She and the Daughters continue to deliver food and clothing to the most vulnerable, while taking all necessary precautions. They also share the love of Christ by providing Bibles and devotionals and by offering prayer when they deliver food. Three times a year, Rev. Jéssica’s church picks up food from the government to distribute to the needy in the community. But it’s not enough. When the food runs out, Rev. Jéssica and the Daughters purchase food themselves, as they are able.

Planning for Growth of The Order in Spain

Representatives from the three chapters in Spain met in December, 2019 in Madrid for a planning session. Joining them was one of their key supporters, the Rev. José Antonio Esteban, Chaplain for the Redentor Cathedral Chapter. The Rev. Jéssica Coello, Liaison for Spain, led the meeting. The new growth in Spain is exciting! Two new senior chapters and one Junior chapter are in formation.
