Prayers for Persecuted Christians and
for an end to violence around the world
The Armor of God:
Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil's schemes. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord's people.

The stories continue of the massacres, the bombings and the brutal killings perpetuated against innocent men, women and children by radical Islamist militants. In several countries on the continent of Africa, in Pakistan, Syria and Iraq, the struggle for survival continues for those who will not accept the beliefs of those using religion to bludgeon those who stand in their way. We know that it is not only Christians who are being killed in these actions but they have been targeted quite specifically by those who wish to destroy the ancient Christian communities of the Middle East, Syria and Iraq and of Egypt. The persecutions also continue in Pakistan and Nigeria and the Sudan. Still, the Christians persevere in holding their faith and we need to direct our prayers to support them.
Pam Runyon, former National President has said,”I have heard from many of you who share my passion to unite in fervent prayer, and I am asking each Daughter to pray daily for God's protection for persecuted Christians. I ask that you not let a chapter meeting or gathering of Daughters go by without praying together for these precious believers.”
So pray for our Sisters and Brothers in Christ who are being persecuted for our Faith wherever in the world they might be.

As a body is one though it has many parts, and all the parts of the body, though many, are one body, so also Christ. . . . If one part suffers, all the parts suffer with it."
