Duties and Responsibilities of Membership
A Daughter will love God and love her neighbor as herself, opening her heart to the most vulnerable and the least loveable. "He said to him, ‘You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind.’ This is the greatest and first commandment. And a second is like it: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.” Matthew 22: 37-40 (NRSV)

A Daughter will pray regularly and
unceasingly, trusting Christ to lead and guide her. A Daughter will live
a life born out of love, and not fear, for God is her refuge and
strength. A Daughter will serve her King through His family, the Holy
Church.
To help accomplish this, a Daughter:
Follows a daily Rule of Life, fulfilling the vows of prayer and service.
Faithfully wears the cross of The Order
Undertakes a personal program of evangelism through prayer and service, working to bring others to Christ through His church.
Is faithful in attending corporate worship and supportive of the clergy for the good of the parish and Christ’s kingdom.
Pays her dues promptly.
Participates in offerings to the Funds of The Order: the Self Denial Fund, the Master’s Fund, the Endowment Fund, and the Alpha Fund.
Attends and participates in regular chapter meetings, diocesan and provincial assemblies, and cooperates with other church groups whenever possible.
Women of All Ages
Members of The Order of the Daughters of the King® are women and girls between the ages of seven and one hundred and seven who desire a closer walk with the Lord. We are Christian women, both lay and ordained, who are strengthened through the discipline of a Rule of Life, and supported through the companionship of our sisters. We are all at different stages of our Christian journey – some have just begun and some have been on this path for a long time. But no matter where we are on our sacred journeys, our primary goal is the same – to know Jesus Christ and to make Him known to others.
Membership in The Order is open to women at every stage of life. The diversity of different ages strengthens and enriches our adult, or senior, chapters. Younger women benefit from the discipleship of experienced spiritual mentors, and older women are invigorated by the fresh faith and energy of youth. Many senior chapters help spread the Kingdom to the next generation by sponsoring and supporting a Junior Daughters chapter at their churches.
We refer to our adult Daughters as "senior" Daughters and girls and young women under 21 as "Junior" Daughters. A Daughter at Large is a member of The Order, who because of logistics, geography, or other reasons is a member of a church with no chapter. And International Daughters are members who have joined The Order in countries outside the United States.
