Italy
HistoryIn 2009, while at a spiritual growth retreat in Italy, Daughters Annemarie Delgado and Cindy Birdsall presented information about the Order to attendees. Then in September 2010, Pam Runyon and Marge Rogers followed up by leading a retreat in Italy to specifically talk about The Daughters of the King®. Six months after that Rosemarie Valentine took her vows as a Daughter while in Florida. Almost 2 years to the day after her first visit, Pam Runyon, along with Rosemarie and Rev. Connie Sanchez, visited with the ladies in Italy. In June 2013, a little over 4 years after the seeds were planted, the first DOK chapter in Italy was instituted at St. Paul's Within the Walls, Rome. The First Chapter in Italy is Instituted!
"The long awaited day! Mamma Mia, was it a lovely service. Robina wrote to us just after the institution of her chapter on June 23, 2013. The charter was presented to Fr. Austin Rios by The Reverend Connie Sanchez, National Chaplain in Honduras. Robina and three other ladies from St. Paul’s were given their crosses and admitted to the Order. Dr. Rosemarie Valentine (Regional Coordinator for Europe and now a member of the Paulines), assisted in the formation of the new chapter after a retreat led by Pam Runyon, Connie and Rosemarie in the Fall of 2012.
