Chaplains

Chaplains

Chaplains are extremely important to our Order at every level, beginning with our chapters. A chapter’s chaplain is usually the rector, priest or pastor of that church, but in large parishes, the rectors often ask assistants or deacons to be chaplains. Chaplains are appointed by the president at all other levels as well. The duties and responsibilities are similar for Chapter, Diocesan, Provincial and National Chaplains.

Principal Functions of our Chaplains are:

  • To advise the president
  • To attend officers meetings, offering guidance as needed
  • To provide spiritual and liturgical support, especially in planning Eucharistic services
  • To lead retreats or quiet days when invited
  • To interface with other clergy in introducing or explaining The Order

In turn, Daughters pray daily for their chaplains and clergy, and seek to support their ministry.
