Bylaw Changes
The following amendments to the bylaws were passed by a two-thirds (2/3) vote of the delegates during the 2024 Triennial Business Meeting in Louisville, Kentucky.
1. Conforming amendment #1, changing "priest" to "clergy" throughout the bylaws.
2. Article IV, Section 4E (new amendment)
Chapters, diocesan assemblies, and provincial assemblies are sub-entities of The Order of the Daughters of the King, Inc., and therefore should not apply separately for non-profit or tax-exempt status.
3. Article XVI
These Bylaws, as a whole or part, may be amended at any National Convention by two thirds (2/3) vote of all credentialed delegates present in person or virtually (if offered by National Council) and voting at any National Convention, provided the amendment(s) has been submitted to the chapters in writing at least three (3) months before the National Convention convenes.
The adopted amendments to the Bylaws will go into effect on September 1, 2024.
It was further resolved, That the secretary of The Order, and the Chairman of the Bylaws Committee be authorized to correct any article and section, designation, punctuation, and cross-references and to make such other technical and conforming changes as may be necessary to reflect the intent of The Order of the Daughters of the King, Inc., in connection with the adopted amendments to the Bylaws.
Fund Resolutions
It was resolved that the names of the Funds of The Order be changed:
- Self Denial Fund to Mission and Outreach Fund
- Alpha Fund to Junior Daughters Fund
- Master's Fund to Ministry Education Fund
- Endowment Fund to remain the same
It was further resolved to change the mandate for the Self Denial (now Mission and Outreach Fund) to: "The Mission and Outreach Fund supports both global and local mission and outreach projects to share God’s love with all people."
