The Rev’d Lynn Carter-Edmands has thirty years of leadership experience as a priest in parish and diocesan ministry. This experience
includes congregation and clergy transitions, vocational discernment and mentoring, formation and leadership development, and mediation and conflict transformation. Mother Lynn served most recently in the Diocese
of Southern Ohio as the Canon to the Ordinary concluding eight years as a member of the Bishop’s staff. She has served as the rector of two parishes and as a chaplain and teacher at a boy’s boarding preparatory school where she taught
Bible, Ethics, and senior electives in religion. Mother Lynn is certified in Transitional Ministry through the Interim Ministry Network and in the Appreciative Way and spent part of 2020-21 as the interim rector of a parish in the
Diocese of Maine.
In her “retirement” she currently serves as the transition priest-in-charge of St. Alban’s in Bexley, OH and as a member of the board of Healthy Congregations. She
will return to General Convention in 2024 as a deputy from the Diocese of Southern Ohio. Lynn is married to the Rev’d Frank A. Edmands II, also an Episcopal priest, and they live in the Columbus, OH area.
Mother Lynn has described herself as “an outgoing and encouraging leader committed to living and sharing the good news of Jesus to build up the body of Christ for our life in the world, offering my gifts and experience as a priest to bring out God's best in others as they bring out God's best in me.” She
considers herself blessed to have been appointed as national chaplain to The Order of the Daughters of the King and to be able to work alongside National President, Nancy Severin, and other leaders in the Daughters' remarkable ministry
of prayer, service, and evangelism.
