 | | Covenant Prayer for Leadership By Nancy Severin “Take heart; get up, he is calling you.” (From the Gospel reading, October 24, Mark 10:49b) | This is my covenant prayer, O Lord, for I know this to be true.
I have been called. There was a calling upon my heart to seek a deeper meaning to my life. I have been called. I was drawn to search for more - to be in the company of other seeking, nurturing souls. I have been called. I stayed. Welcoming hands reached out – friends leaned in, attentive to my story. I have been called. I felt heard and accepted, no matter my circumstance or life journey. I have been called. Vows taken, promises made. Did I really understand what, “with God’s help,” meant for my life? I am called. I am still here, still seeking. Listening intently, O Lord. I am called. I pause. Words fill my thoughts. Obedience. Prayer. Service. Community. Action. Disciple. I am called. Step up? Take a leap of faith? You can’t possibly mean me! What gifts do I have? I am called. Take heart! Get up! You are called! You are created for such a time as this! I am called. Covenant with Me. Learn from Me. Follow Me. Grow in Love and I will show you the Way. I am called. Surrounded by sisters, bonded in faith, I am encouraged, supported and never alone. I am called. Lord, what will you have me do?
