** September 5th is the ingathering day for the Junior Daughters Fund. ** This date was selected in honor of the day Mother Teresa died in 1997. "But Jesus called for them and said, “Let the little children come to me, and do not stop them; for it is to such as these that the kingdom of God belongs." Luke 18:16 NRSV The Junior Daughters Fund provides financial support to Junior directresses in their efforts to extend Christ's kingdom among young women and girls. The Alpha Fund was established at the 2009 Triennial Convention and named in honor of the first Junior chapter founded by Ms. Mary Davenport in 1896. The Fund is used to develop and support the Junior Daughter ministry to begin new Junior chapters, strengthen existing ones, and provide assistance for retreats, service projects, and activities. The Alpha Fund was renamed the Junior Daughters Fund by resolution at The Order’s National Convention held in Louisville, Kentucky, in June 2024. The ingathering day for the Junior Daughters Fund is relevant to the Junior ministry which is often tied to the beginning of the school year. Therefore, the ingathering day for donations is September 5 in remembrance of the anniversary of the death of Saint Teresa of Calcutta (commonly known as Mother Teresa). Junior Daughters are encouraged to study their lives and work as an example of how God calls everyone, no matter their age, to love and serve God's people. How to Make a Donation
The easiest way to donate to the Junior Daughters Fund is to do it online here. For those not comfortable with donating online, a printable donation form is available for to print and mail to the National office.
