Lord, what will you have me do?
These words echo in the hearts of every Daughter as she puts on the
cross of The Order each morning. Have you considered whether our King is
calling you to national leadership within The Order? All too often we
find God leading us to do the things for which we feel most unequipped
and unqualified. Yet, God lovingly encourages us, saying “My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.” 2 Corinthians 12:9a (NKJV). In The Order’s prayer, we ask to remember “that it is Your work we are called to do” – not our own, or even The Order’s, but Christ’s. A fully functioning National Council is a gift to God.
It
is time to pray about and prepare nominations for National Council as a
"New Day Dawns" for our Order. Here is what you need to know:
“Each
Diocesan Assembly may nominate one member of The Order for election to
National Council, having obtained her consent. The name and
qualifications of the member nominated must be submitted on the National
Council Nominee Form to the National Office by January 15 of the
National Convention year.” Article VII. Section 1.D.3
“Eligibility
for nomination: To be eligible for election to National Council, the
nominee must be a Daughter for at least three (3) years, must be current
in the payment of dues, and must have served in an elected or appointed
position at the Diocesan or Provincial Assembly level.” Article VII. Section 1.D.4
What I ought to do, by the grace of God I will do. Lord, what will you have me do?
