Advent Quiet Day with Centering Prayer and Practice
St. Anne’s Chapter of the Daughters of the King, Trinity, Greeley, is organizing A Quiet Day with Centering Prayer and Practice this year for Saturday, December 7, 2019. The day will be facilitated by The Reverend Michelle Danson. Michelle is an Episcopal Priest, Spiritual Director, Retreat Leader and Educator. She is a co-founder of the Contemplative Beehive of Boulder Valley and has completed a three-year term as co-coordinator for Contemplative Outreach of Boulder County. She has taught a course, “Centering Prayer as Christian Contemplation,” at Naropa University in Boulder. In 2014 she was invited to participate in the International Contemplative Alliance gathering in Boulder, and was featured in the opening plenary dialogue, representing the Christian Contemplative voice. As a result of that, she was invited to travel to Japan later in 2014 with a small select group of Practitioners from various spiritual traditions.
As we prepare our hearts and minds for the arrival of the Christ Child, please consider joining us for a Quiet Day, a day of rest and reflection.
During our time together we will learn how essential a contemplative practice is for our spiritual formation and growth, the history of contemplative practices, how to practice centering prayer and the fruits and benefits of a contemplative practice.
Our time will be a mixture of presentation, silent reflection, prayer practice and a time to ask any questions. We suggest that you bring a notebook or journal and wear comfortable clothes.
There is no fee for the day and a continental breakfast and light lunch will be provided. We will begin at 8:00 a.m. and continue through until 2:00 p.m.
If you are interested in attending, please contact Julie Matt, jmatt48@comcast.net, so that we can ensure that we have enough food for the group.
