HistoryTwo Daughters from Arkansas, Dinah Reed and Dee Sanders, introduced the Order in Quetzaltenango (Xela), and the first Guatemala chapter was instituted in 2014. The Rev. Virgina Hall met with ladies from other parishes, and Bishop Romero and his wife, Eva, followed up and instituted a second chapter in Bananera in 2015.
First Chapter in Guatemala Santa Maria Magdalena Chapter was instituted on Sept. 26, 2014 at Iglesia San Marcos, Quetzaltenango . Bishop Carlos Lainfiesta, his wife Rev. Edna, and Rev. Dr. Roberto Armas joined Arkansas Daughters and the 11 new members for a joyful celebration. Second Chapter in Guatemala
Rocio de Angeles Chapter was instituted on January 4, 2015 at Iglesia San Miguel y Todos los Angeles in Bananera. Bishop Sylvestre and Eva Romero were present to celebrate this happy occasion with the eight new Daughters of the King.
Daughters from Quetzaltenango Serve in Medical MissionThree Daughters of the King from Santa Maria Magdalena Chapter at Iglesia San Marcos in Quetzaltenango took part in a medical mission in one of the mountain villages in Guatemala. Claudia Perez, Sara Perez Rodriquez and Dulce Garcia, accompanied their priest, the Rev. Dr. Roberto Armas, to Chicalibal, where they assisted a medical mission team from St. Peter’s Episcopal Church in Conway, Arkansas. There was a special connection with the US team since Daughters from the Imogene Chapter at St. Peter’s helped to form Santa Maria Magdalena Chapter in 2014.
