Linda Smoak interested some of the women of the Dominican Republic in becoming Las Hijas del Rey in 1998. In 2000, charters for three chapters were presented by Tory Riihimaki and Barbara Ward. In 2007, the Daughters of the Dominican Republic formed their assembly and elected officers. Daughters from Province IV, who had encouraged their sisters to take this step, attended and presented a chaplain's cross as their gift to the Rev. Margaret Santana, chaplain to the Daughters.

Triennial Torch Prayers
The chapter, Todos Los Santos, in La Romana, Dominican Republic, has joined all the Daughters in praying the Torch prayer for Triennial 2015.
The President of the chapter is Dr. Grecia Reynoso and
the Chaplain is the Rev. Salvador Almonte.
The chapter celebrates the Holy Eucharist on the first Monday of the month.
Daughters from the Dominican Republic prayed the Torch Prayer together at the Holy Eucharist celebrated on August 15 at La Capilla San Juan Evangelista at the
Diocesan Center in Santo Domingo. This was the feast day of St. Mary the Virgin
and the 23rd Anniversary of Bishop Julio Cesar Holguin's consecration.
